Taylor Swift surprised us all at the 2022 VMAs literally dripping in crystals on the red carpet.
Taylor rocked an incredible Oscar de la Renta Halter Crystal Strand Cocktail Dress from the designer’s 2023 Resort Collection paired with Christian Louboutin Silver Spike Strappy Sandals.

Of course, the near-naked dress comes with a hefty price tag — $24,990. And that doesn’t even account for the $1,095 heels and the Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.
The red carpet appearance marks the beginning of Taylor’s Midnights era. The musician shocked fans with the news of her new album dubbed Midnights with a release date of October 21, 2022.
According to Taylor, Midnights is “a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams.” The album will feature 13 brand-new tracks that tell “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout [her] life.”

If Taylor’s VMAs red carpet appearance is any indication, her Midnights era will be full of crystals, sequins, glitz, and glam. And, of course, that extends to her makeup.

On the red carpet, Taylor wore her signature red lip with a gorgeous crystal-embellished cat eye created by famous makeup artist Pat McGrath.
According to the MUA, she used products from her own collection to create the look including the Mothership X Eyeshadow Palette: Moonlight Seduction, the Divine Skin Rose 001 Essence, and the LiquiLUST Matte Lipstick.
After the award show, Taylor hit up the afterparty wearing a Moschino Navy Blue Star-Embellished Silky Romper paired with Alexander McQueen Silver Glitter Platform Sandals.
